Mentone, Alabama has many
interesting places to explore both inside the town and in the
surrounding area.
We have more than one state
park, local attractions, and several popular summer camps in the vicinity of our shop.
Mentone is also a
flourishing arts and craft community. We have many antique stores,
artisan shops, and beautiful, historic accommodations. Here are
some links for you to explore in order to get a better feel for our
lovely mountain community.

Mountain Laurel Inn offers a beautiful view of the inspiring woods
through picture windows or from the rocking chairs on the porch. It
features beautifully decorated rooms with a private entrance and bath,
TV, VCR, heat and air. They offer a family-style breakfast consisting
of fruit, homemade breads and a main dish consist of breakfast pizza,
eggs rancheros, decadent French toast or breakfast in bread. They
provide different kinds of rooms such as Wildflower room, Ski room,

Mentone Springs Hotel(circa

The oldest hotel in Alabama, this Queen Anne Victorian features a
2,650 square foot wraparound porch, a library, an exercise room, and a
massage therapist on site. Offers six guest rooms and three suites,
all with queen beds, fireplaces, and shared baths in the original
style of the hotel. Full large and varied breakfast included.

on ten lovely acres, this unique bed and breakfast offering four
spacious and individually decorated guest rooms with private baths.
The Queen Anne room is fashioned after an 18th century boudoir, the
Casablanca room is set up for a tropical getaway, the Nautical room
resembles a seafaring vessel right down to the captain's cannonball
bed, and the Little Room on the Prairie has a cast iron pot over a

breezes, then this is the place for you!! Enjoy the fireplace in the
main lounge and the large porch area. Twelve guestrooms furnished with
antiques, queen or twin beds, and with private baths are offered. A
full breakfast is included in the room rate. Also available nearby is
antiquing, canoeing, kayaking, golfing, hiking, horseback riding,
parks, downhill skiing and water sports. The Mentone Inn is featured
in Bed & Breakfasts and Country Inns published by American Historic
Inns.

One thousand acre resort offering a variety of accommodations plus
features two, one thousand foot beginner to intermediate ski slopes,
an 18 hole golf course, horseback riding, and miles of trails
including the 1864 Civil War Military trail where McCook crossed.

Lookout Mountain, an
Appalachian chain stretching 93 miles along wild & scenic rivers,
bordering lush forests, and shouldering sheer rock cliffs and majestic

Sequoyah Caverns
Known
for it's reflecting pools, this cave is named for the Cherokee Indian
Chief Sequoyah. Guided tours of the cave are available with special
group rates. The property also has buffalo, peacocks and white fallow

Hiking
and Biking trails, swimming pool, tennis courts, playground and picnic
area are just part of what awaits you in this park, voted as one of

Little River
Canyon Preserve
Enjoy scenic
vistas and waterfalls along the beautiful Little River Canyon National
Preserve. Follow a 23-mile drive along the canyon's rim for
spectacular vistas into the 700-foot deep gorge. Whitewater kayaking
and canoeing, horseback riding and rappelling is allowed in the canyon
but you do need to bring your own equipment. There are no outfitters
available near the Canyon.

Crow's Nest Antiques

antiques, collectibles and gift items from the surrounding area. The
building, called The Hitching Post, is a interesting old structure and
provides an old-time atmosphere for shopping. In former years square
dances were held upstairs every Saturday night.

4. White
Elephant Antiques Gallery 6512 Highway

The White Elephant's historical building was
built for the Mentone Springs Hotel in the early 20th century. It now
houses many specialty and antique shops. Most shops offer contemporary
